Felsted School has been awarded the Incorporated Society of Musicians (ISM) and the ISM Trust's Bronze Certificate in recognition of having 10% of the school’s Year 11 students achieving an A*-C in GCSE music. In fact, over 90% of Felsted's students who sat GCSE Music last year gained A*-B grades.
This award highlights how pupils have benefited from the musical opportunities available to them here at Felsted. Music is central to school life and this award goes a long way in supporting and encouraging an even higher proportion of our pupils to get involved in music at GCSE level and beyond.
Felsted’s Director of Music, Mr Peter Bennett commented.
The strength of Felsted’s Music is reflected in the number of students achieving high grades in a wide variety of instruments. One of these is Year 8 pupil, Sana Abu-Jabir, who recently passed her Grade 8 Percussion with distinction. Sana has only been playing for three years, after being introduced to the instrument by Assistant Director of Music at Felsted Preparatory School, Rachel Clarke.

The last three years studying music at Felsted and Junior Guildhall have been amazing. I am so happy that I have passed my Grade 8 Percussion with Distinction and am now working towards my Grade 8 Piano, Grade 8 Orchestral Percussion and Grade 7 Viola.
Sana Abu-Jabir.
