Felsted Student Reece Hussain scored an unbeaten double century against Haberdashers’ Aske’s School to become only the third Felstedian to achieve the hugely impressive milestone.
Reece is a Sports Scholar at Felsted and plays his club cricket at Bishop’s Stortford Cricket Club. Two summers ago Reece notched three consecutive centuries playing for his then club High Roding.
Finishing the innings on 200 not out, Reece, joined an exclusive club at Felsted which includes Matthew Surry (h 02-07), who scored 200 not out in a fixture against Essex U17s in 2007 and Roger Luckin (a 53-57) who scored in excess of 200 during the 1950s.
Reece joined Essex County Club at age 6 and played for Essex U9s up to U15s, and currently plays Minor Counties cricket for Hertfordshire. At Felsted, Reece has the opportunity to play various competitive fixtures during the busy summer term alongside preparing for his vital A Level examinations.
Reece comments, 'I have worked hard on my technique through the winter programme with Jason Gallian, Felsted’s Director of Cricket. When I got to 150 I knew that with a few overs to go before the declaration the 200 was on. To score 200 on the famous Felsted Front has always been a dream of mine since being a pupil in the Preparatory School and I was extremely pleased to become the 3rd Felstedian to achieve this feat.'
