Felsted’s U14 Boys' Hockey Team, cheered on by the whole of Felsted Year 9, had the honour of representing the School at the Olympic Park, as one of only eight teams remaining in this National Schools’ Competition.

The next game against the much fancied Dean Close was expected to be the toughest game in the group stage. A real tussle ensued and a goal on the stroke of half time for Dean Close ended a cagey first half. As Felsted pushed hard towards the end Dean Close scored on the counter attack in the dying seconds to inflict a 2-0 defeat.
Reeds School were next up and a draw would have seen Felsted through to a playoff match. At 0-0 the momentum changed due to an incredible save by the Reeds goalkeeper. Reeds pushed on to run out 3-0 winners to progress ahead of Felsted, leaving Felsted in fifth position overall.
Team Coach Loren Sherer comments, “The boys gave a very good account of themselves on the day. It was a special experience to play at the Olympic Park Stadium and to compete as well as they did with the top teams in the country was a credit to the hard work they have put in this season.”
