Felsted was in bloom last week as the School’s Charity Team delivered over 237 Valentine Roses and 87 Chocolates as part of the Sparkle Malawi fundraising initiative.
It wasn't just boyfriends and girlfriends, mums and dads who were recipients, but many flowers were ordered to say ‘thank you’ for the help and support staff give to the Houses as well. This year the Charity Team worked alongside Magic Bus volunteers and the proceeds from the sale of chocolates will go to help street children in Mumbai.
Emily Butler who serves as Chairperson of the Charity Team says, “The school have really got behind Sparkle Malawi and Magic Bus this year. We faced quite a challenge making and delivering so many flowers and chocolates but together with the Magic Bus team we did it! Hopefully we will make a real difference to Malawi and Mumbai and people here will feel appreciated too.”
Early indications are that the money raised will help vaccinate and feed 30 children in Malawi for a year and continue to build on Felsted’s commitment to Magic Bus.
Felsted School are making a big effort to support this chosen charity for the year, led by Sarah Brook (Old Felstedian), who is a huge inspiration to us all and is truly making a difference in the world. Watch this video to be inspired and find out more about Sparkle Malawi.
