Felsted A Level students, Silas Turner-Jones and George Harvey, have both been awarded prestigious Arkwright Scholarships following a rigorous testing and interview process.
The nationally recognised Arkwright Scholarships are for students interested in a career in engineering and who show high level abilities in STEM subject areas. Silas, who is currently studying Maths, Physics and DT at A Level, is hoping to pursue his interest in aerospace engineering whilst George, who is also studying Maths, Physics and DT alongside a fourth A Level in Chemistry, has a passion for astro-physics and technology.

This scholarship grants both boys funding towards the projects they undertake in each of their two sixth form years, and further funding for the Design & Technology department, which will allow equipment to be purchased that provides new design and manufacture opportunities for students.
It is so pleasing to see two of Felsted's budding engineers being rewarded for their enthusiasm and hard work. They now have an excellent chance of securing a place on an engineering course at a top university and it marks the beginnings of what can be a first rate career in industry.
Mr Mick Pitts, Head of Felsted DT.
